Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery

Two doctors played significant roles in shaping his career. Dr. Bormes, a surgeon in his hometown of Aberdeen, South Dakota, inspired him to pursue medicine. Another important figure was Dr. Joel Bleicher, a plastic surgeon he met in medical school. Dr. Bleicher had a great influence on Dr. Schutz decision to become a plastic surgeon. They physicians showed him the joy of helping people look and feel better. In His practice, Dr. Schutz believes less is more. His philosophy is to achieve a natural-looking result with every surgery and procedure.

Academic Information

Dr. Schutz attended medical school at Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska, and completed a general surgery residency at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, Iowa. He completed a residency in plastic surgery at Tulane University Medical Center in New Orleans, Louisiana.
